Welcome to our Consignment Program

We take 40%, you get 60%. We apply store credit once a month for our consignment gear customers. You can take it in cash if we have it. Generally that is in the afternoon or weekends. We can also pay by PayPal. We do not mail checks. Unfortunately, we cannot notify you when your equipment sells at this time. Any employee can quickly look it up however by phone or in either store. Try to forget about your gear and give us half the season.

We only sell clean, modern, and functional outdoor gear and clothing for skiing, snowboarding, and backcountry touring. In the spring our used clothing and ski resort oriented gear gets transferred to our Olympic Valley shop, Olympic Valley Ski & Bike. We have more room to display it there.  Our Olympic Valley shop has a ton of demo and rental skis and snowboards for sale in spring and summer as well, so check it out! The used backcountry gear remains in our Truckee shop, The BackCountry, on Donner Pass Road. We also have some used climbing gear and mountain bikes occasionally for sale.

Consignment Guidelines

Winter Outdoor Clothing only. Kids and Adults OK. No summer clothing. No rips stains or bad zippers on clothing. Must be quality outdoor brands like Patagonia, Marmot, North face, etc. No casual clothing, base layer, gloves, scratched goggles, or stickered-up helmets.

Skis and Snowboards  no long or skinny skis! no blown edges or damaged bases. Seriously, modern gear only with no damage. If your skis are more than 5 years old, they may not pass our standards.

Ski and Snowboard Boots  Tech binding compatibility only on touring boots. Boots must be very clean, with footbeds inside, and not worn out at the toe. AT, Tele boots, snowboard boots, kids alpine ski boots all sell well!

Winter Backcountry gear . The following equipment sells well only if it is modern and low mileage. We will take Avalanche safety gear, rock climbing hardware, snowshoes, ski poles, Mountaineering crampons and ice axes, rock climbing shoes.

We do not take general outdoor footwear for running, hiking, or mountaineering.
